David Higgins
Director of Programs
David has been part of the Mifos team since early 2023. He initially lead the GovStack alignment work where we assisted in the production of the Payments BB Specification as well as delivered a candidate solution based on Payment Hub EE. Since then he has contributed to the messaging around our Digital Public Goods (DPGs) and their role in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). This has included ensuring Payment Hub EE was recognised as a DPG in 2024, and launch of Mifos Gazelle our DPI and a packaged Solution (DaaS) tool. David is widely involved in governance and managing our programs across Mifos including our Community and Partnerships, interaction with other organisations such as Interledger Foundation, DPGA, Mojaloop etc. He has also been an active mentor of some of our interns.
Prior to this David graduated from University of Bath (UK) and University College London both with Masters Degrees in Engineering and Science respectively. David worked for 18 years for a major Telecommunications provider in the UK leading significant development programs that involved Technical ability and significant scaling and growth. He also worked in the Financial and Insurance sector as Head of IT and Architecture for a rapidly growing insurance company ensuring an enterprise and scalable IT infrastructure was in place for services and addressing cyber and technical debt. In his spare time Davids passion is cars and 3d printing. He built from scratch a sports car, and also worked on restoration projects.
