Diego is an Ecuadorian Banking Professional with extensiv eexperience in financial inclusion over the Latin American region. He started working for financial institutions in 1990 as a 22-year-old Business Administration student. Since then, he developed a career in the financial system in Ecuador having gained experience and developing his skills such that by 2009 he had the opportunity to leave his home country and continue his career in Central America, managing financial institutions in Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador.

Over these years he has combined financial inclusion and digital transformation efforts with social and environmental responsibility, which he considers fundamental to achieving true impacts on the quality of life of people and their environments. Likewise, he has improved his academic background seeking to be a high-performance professional in his field. receiving his master’s degrees and professional certificates in Innovation, Education, Strategic Direction, Economics and Digital Transformation.

Currently he is getting his diploma as a Chief Sustainability Officer at the Massachusetts Intitute of Technology. Since 1998 he has supplemented his banking career acting as a certified facilitator in several financial institutions and networks. He became an expert trainer in credit analysis, strategic planning and performance management. Currently, he works as main consultant at “Microfinanzas en Movimiento” executing consultancy projects related with microfinance methodologies and credit processes digitalization at Banks and Credit Unions of Ecuador in addition to developing training programs for those personnel of those institutions.
