Meet our 2026 Summer Interns

Join us in officially welcoming our class of interns for 2026.  We have the pleasure of working with 25 interns across Google Summer of Code, Code for GoodTech, and Mifos Summer of Code. This year Google of Summer of Code is celebrating its 22nd year and marks our 14th year of participation overall and 11th year directly as the Mifos Initiative with thirteen interns chosen. We selected five interns through C4GT as a participant for the third time in the Code for GoodTech Dedicated Mentoring Program which is now being led by IIITB Hyderabad. Once again, we had to be very selective and due to the immensely high quality of candidates that applied, we offered up an additional seven internship positions through Mifos Summer of Code to candidates we couldn’t accept through the other programs. We have a diverse range of countries represented once again with India well represented, interns from Egypt, Cameroon and this year two interns from Europe in Italy and Spain. 

Across all the programs the evaluation and selection process was very intensive; for the Google Summer of Code program as a whole, 1,141 contributors were accepted from the record 23,371 applications received from 131 countries. For Mifos alone we received 197 proposals from which we were granted 13 slots yielding an acceptance rate of only 6%. Similarly, for Code for GoodTech, despite their program being smaller this year with 2000 proposals from 40 organizations, Mifos is well represented with 5 interns selected from our pool of 204 applicants.

A massive thank you to David Higgins for helping organize all our intern procedures this year and all of our mentors for helping to evaluate, guide and onboard our interns. We are gracious to Google and IIITB Hyderabad for the opportunity to work with so many talented and motivated individuals as they help us fight poverty with financial inclusion, build the next generation of open source contributors for our project, and help usher them along their personal and professional journeys.

Google Summer of Code

For Google Summer of Code, we have selected interns to work across a mix of projects that will deliver both high-value and bleeding edge capabilities to the community. 

We will be putting a good deal of energy into strengthening and hardening the Mifos X core with interns continuing the work led by Aleks supported by NL Net Foundation to refactor command processing and the CQRS sub-system enabling type-safety  as well as introducing event-driven architectural enhancements to enable stand-alone modules through Mifos X. We also continue to enhance the security, stability and performance of PH-ee with two projects including one to upgrade all the core dependencies and another to build a comprehensive API security assessment and penetration testing tool. 

On the mobile front, we have two interns that will be expanding the functional breadth of our unified suite of mobile apps built on the KMP framework with enhancements to Mifos Pay for mobile wallet, personal financial management and financial analytics use cases and a complete revamp of our Mifos X Open Banking Fintech app to provide a reference app for Open Banking and 3PPI use cases and innovation.  

On the front-end, we have three projects touching all aspects of our web app including both the current app and the next generation of our admin UI. We’ll be launching the second version of our next generation modular-React-based UI, introducing a comprehensive E2E and unit testing framework for the current Mifos X web app as well as a financial analytics dashboard module for Mifos X to provide dynamic and comprehensive dashboards and visualizations.  

As AI continues to transform financial services and the way we fundamentally design and develop software as a whole, we are continuing to explore the boundaries of AI for financial inclusion with two projects including enhancements to our MIfos X MCP Server to provide an an AI-enabled web assistant for Mifos X web app using cloud and on-prem LLMs as well as a new module to enhance financial literacy and accessibility that uses LLMS to automatically summarize loan contracts generated and uploaded into Mifos X helping users to understand all the complex financial terms and parameters.  

Our newest solution Mifos Gazelle, will continue its rapid evolution with two projects extending its footprint of integrations with additional DPGs focused on social protection, registries and the end to end digitization of bulk G2P payments. Interns will be integrating both OpenSPP as well as OpenG2P into Gazelle. 

Code for GoodTech

All of our products will be a focus of this years Code For GoodTech cohort of interns. For Payment Hub EE, we will be rewriting the Operations Web UI into React to improve both usability and developer productivity. On the mobile front, we are going to launch our first community-supported app for savings groups and savings-led financial inclusion with the Mifos Save mobile app. We’ll also be building out the Pocket feature of Mifos Pay enabling users to group together their accounts into pockets in the app. For Mifos Gazelle, we’ll be incorporating the latest version of Mifos X and on the AI horizon, introducing a module for dynamic pricing of microloans using reinforcement learning. 

Mifos Summer of Code

We are very excited for Mifos Summer of Code this year as we’ve chosen interns and projects that will enable us to implement some capabilities that been requested very often over the years. We’ll be designing and developing a Mifos X marketplace to enable the ecosystem to develop and distribute new components, modules, plug-ins and integrations that extend the core functionality of Mifos X. As the breadth of lending use cases in Mifos X has grown, it’s become more complex to configure new loan products through the UI so we’re building out loan product templates into Mifos X with pre-configured instances of the most common credit use cases. On the reporting front, we’re finally going to offer an alternative to Pentaho that is more open and developer friendly by integrating Eclipse BIRT reporting engine with an automatic migration tool from Pentaho. To help with credit decisioning, we’re launching the latest iteration of our credit bureau integration module as well as the next version of our bank statement analysis module with deeper and advanced document digitization. On the AI front, we’ll also be building a robust suite of LLM-powered developer productivity tools including an AI Security Reviewer GitHub Action to catch vulnerabilities, a test automation system using Playwright MCP, and a Mifos MCP Server using agentic grep and semantic search to help developers navigate the massive codebase.

Mohammad Gous Alam

Mifos Gazelle – Open G2P integration

Mohammad Gous Alam is a final-year Information Technology student at Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, India. He will be driving the Mifos Gazelle – OpenG2P Integration project under the mentorship of Devarsh Shah and Tom Daly. Mohammad will be responsible for mapping and architecting the integration between core OpenG2P modules (Registry, PBMS, SPAR, and G2P Bridge) and Mifos components to facilitate seamless Government-to-Person payments. He was selected for his strong backend development foundation and leadership experience, which will be crucial for bridging these massive public infrastructure platforms. Outside of coding, Mohammad enjoys gaming and taking road trips with friends.

Ruphine Kengne

API Security Assessment and Penetration Testing for Mifos Payment Hub EE

Tcheukounang Grace (Ruphine Kengne) will be driving the API Security Assessment and Penetration Testing for Mifos Payment Hub EE project under the mentorship of Kerlyn Manyi. Grace will focus on conducting a comprehensive security assessment of the Payment Hub APIs based on the OWASP Top 10 , performing threat modeling , and developing automated, reusable API security test suites for the community. She was selected for her highly specialized expertise, bringing over five years of backend development experience , advanced API security training from the Cybersafe Foundation , and her proven open-source track record as a 2018 Google Summer of Code intern with Apache Fineract. Outside of securing enterprise platforms, Grace loves bringing positive energy to her teams by making the people around her laugh.

Shubham Kumar

AI-Powered Assistant for Mifos  X Web App Using MCP (Cloud and On-Premise LLMs)

Shubham Kumar is an undergraduate Computer Science student at BITS Pilani. He will be developing the AI-Powered Assistant for Mifos X WebApp Using MCP (Mifos Copilot) under the mentorship of Victor Romero, Aru Sharma, and Keshav Arora. Shubham was selected for his exceptional dedication and proven technical impact within the community, having already been recognized as a Mifos “Star Contributor of the Month” for optimizing legacy code and seamlessly building new features. His strong foundation in problem-solving and modern full-stack web technologies makes him perfectly equipped to build and scale this LLM-powered assistant. Outside of coding, Shubham loves riding bikes and hopes to one day travel to Switzerland.

Craig Rosario

Mifos X Web App React Version 2.0

Craig Rosario is an undergraduate student at K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering in Mumbai, India. A returning 2025 Google Summer of Code developer for the organization, he will be continuing his work on the Mifos X Web App React version 2.0 project under the mentorship of Gopi Kishan. Craig will focus on achieving feature parity with the legacy Angular application by building out missing core modules, resolving broken features, and strengthening Fineract API integration using the OpenAPI TypeScript client. He was selected to return because he successfully laid the initial architectural groundwork for this exact ShadCN/React UI last year, giving him an unmatched understanding of the codebase. Outside of development, Craig bought his first laptop at 17 using earnings from his own gaming YouTube channel and loves the late-night hustle and street food culture of Mumbai.

Mansi Maurya

Event-Driven Architecture to Improve Modular Design and Decrease Module Dependencies

Mansi Maurya is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Advanced Software Development at Technological University Dublin. She will be driving the Event-Driven Architecture to Improve Modular Design and Decrease Module Dependencies project under the mentorship of Aleks Vidakovic and Juan Correa. Mansi brings exceptional enterprise-level engineering expertise to the organization, having recently worked as a Senior Software Developer at Standard Chartered Bank. There, she overhauled event processing architecture using Java Spring Boot microservices and Solace to handle 5 million messages daily. She was selected because her deep, practical background in financial systems and multithreaded data processing perfectly aligns with the rigorous demands of refactoring Fineract’s core modules. Outside of engineering, Mansi is from Varanasi, India, and enjoys adopting completely new art and hobby projects every weekend.

Devansh Vashisht

Production-Grade E2E and Unit Testing Infrastructure for Mifos X Web App

Devansh Vashisht is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation and Control Engineering at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, India. He will be building the Production-Grade E2E and Unit Testing Infrastructure for Mifos X Web App under the mentorship of Victor Romero. Devansh will focus on creating a robust, unified testing foundation using Playwright for end-to-end testing and Jest for Angular unit tests, designing a maintainable Page Object Model architecture that can eventually be seamlessly adapted for the React repository. He was selected for his “zero-failure” engineering mindset and proven experience stabilizing complex systems, having previously hardened consensus APIs for the high-stakes, Rust-based Bitcoin protocol, Fedimint. Outside of coding, Devansh is an active boxer who first discovered his passion for programming after watching the movie The Social Network.

Giulio Rinalduzzi

Update Payment Hub EE Dependencies

Giulio Rinalduzzi is a Computer Science student at the University of Bologna in Italy. He will be tackling the Update Payment Hub EE dependencies project under the mentorship of Tom Daly and David Higgins. Giulio will focus on untangling complex transitive dependency issues by implementing a Bill of Materials (BOM) to enforce classpath purity, automating verification tasks, and establishing a repeatable test framework to safely migrate core components like ph-ee-connector-common. He was selected for his proactive engineering approach, his obsession with clean, modern code architectures, and his proven academic excellence—having achieved cum laude honors in his Foundations of Computer Science coursework. Outside of his strict coding standards, Giulio controversially defends his unapologetic love for pineapple pizza to his Italian friends!

Silky Vyas

Mifos X Smart Contract & Loan Agreement Summarization with LLMs

Silky Vyas is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence at the Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. She will be developing the Mifos X Smart Contract & Loan Agreement Summarization with LLMs project under the mentorship of Rahul Goel and Akshat Sharma. Silky will focus on building an end-to-end AI pipeline—including a clause segmenter and an LLM provider abstraction layer—to accurately extract and summarize critical data from complex financial documents. She was selected for her highly specialized, self-taught background in generative AI and Python, as well as her demonstrated leadership as a Google Gemini Campus Ambassador where she actively organized interactive AI coding sessions for her peers. Outside of her technical work, Silky is known for diving “all-in” on her hobbies and highly recommends trying the traditional Dal Baati Churma from her vibrant hometown.

Nagarjuna Banda

Mifos Pay: Personal Money Management & Financial Analytics Module

Nagarjuna Banda recently graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, RKValley, India. He will be developing the Mifos Pay: Personal Money Management & Financial Analytics Module under the mentorship of Rajan Maurya. Nagarjuna will focus on building out multi-account management, automated transaction categorization, and real-time balance synchronization using Kotlin Multiplatform. He was selected for his extensive track record within the Mifos mobile ecosystem, having already completed a DMP internship with the organization in 2025 and contributing heavily to KMP migrations in the codebase. Outside of his passion for scalable architecture, Nagarjuna is from Andhra Pradesh, India, and enjoys overthinking and breaking down complex problems to understand them deeply.

Ismael Sallami Moreno

Mifos Gazelle – OpenSPP

Ismael Sallami Moreno is a student pursuing a double degree in Computer Science and Business Administration in Spain. He will be driving the Mifos Gazelle – OpenSPP Integration project under the mentorship of Tom Daly. Ismael will focus on designing and implementing a robust integration between the OpenSPP (Social Protection Platform) and existing Gazelle components, ensuring that these complex deployments are reproducible in Kubernetes environments while validating complete end-to-end business flows. He was selected for his deep passion for the intersection of mathematics, finance, and software engineering, as well as his meticulous organizational skills—all crucial traits for navigating complex DevOps and infrastructure challenges. Outside of his deployment work, Ismael loves bringing positive energy to his team through humor and dreams of one day treating Albert Einstein to a street-style kebab.

Kalpesh Pawar

Mifos X Open Banking App

Kalpesh Pawar is a student at Silver Oak University in Gujarat, India. He will be developing the Mifos X Open Banking App under the mentorship of Rajan Maurya. Kalpesh will focus on architecting a secure, offline-first application that integrates Account Information (AISP) and Payment Initiation (PISP) services, complete with robust consent management and user onboarding flows. He was selected due to his exceptional, year-long dedication to the Mifos mobile ecosystem, boasting over 60 merged pull requests across multiple repositories and demonstrating deep, self-driven expertise in Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP). Outside of mobile development, Kalpesh fuels his late-night coding sessions with milk coffee and biscuits, and dreams of having a reunion lunch with his closest friends whom he hasn’t seen in six years.

Jay Soni

Financial Analytics Dashboards for the Mifos Web App

Jay Soni is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in AI/ML at Medhavi Skills University in Gujarat, India. He will be developing the Financial Analytics Dashboards for the Mifos Web App under the mentorship of Victor Romero and Yu Wati Nyi. Jay will focus on transforming the platform’s currently static analytical views into interactive, comprehensive dashboards that empower decision-makers and operations teams to track portfolio health, client behavior, and social impact. He was selected for his strong full-stack foundation in modern web technologies and his proactive track record of resolving UI issues and optimizing backend integrations within the community. Outside of UI/UX design, Jay is known for his lighthearted humor—having famously pranked a friend during exam week with a fake “System Error: All Files Deleted” screen—and loves the vibrant Garba festivals of his home state.

Aditi Nikam

Refactor Command Processing / CQRS Sub-system

Aditi Nikam is a software engineering student from India who recently secured an opportunity with JPMorgan Chase following her success at the Code for Good hackathon. She will be driving the Refactor Command Processing / CQRS Sub-system project under the mentorship of Aleksandar Vidakovic. Aditi will focus on modernizing Apache Fineract’s write path by migrating legacy synchronous command processing to a CQRS-based architecture, implementing structured, type-safe command handling to eliminate critical runtime errors. She was selected for her strong foundation in Java and Spring Boot, as well as her practical experience building and deploying robust backend applications with globally hosted databases. Outside of software engineering, Aditi is a trained classical Kathak dancer who recently helped organize the Smart India Hackathon at her university.

Satyam Mishra

Credit Bureau Information Lifecycle Dashboard (CB-ILD) Phase 6

Satyam Mishra is a third-year Computer Science undergraduate at the KIET Group of Institutions in Ghaziabad, India. He will be developing the Credit Bureau Information Lifecycle Dashboard (CB-ILD) Phase 6 project under the mentorship of Victor Romero and Yu Wati Nyi. Satyam will focus on building a complete credit reporting infrastructure layer, enabling loan activity reporting to Círculo de Crédito (CDC), client data validation, and a comprehensive audit trail for all credit bureau interactions. He was selected for his unique dual-expertise in financial systems and his highly proactive approach to open source, having already submitted 10 pull requests and engaged deeply with the architecture before the application period even began. Outside of coding, Satyam actively trades in the stock market and loves the rich food culture of his hometown, Lucknow.

Hossam Hattem

Mifos X Marketplace

Hossam Hatem Ragab is a Computer Science graduate from Menofia University, Egypt, currently working as a full-time Software Engineer at Revival SAP. He will be developing the Mifos X Marketplace project. Under the mentorship of Aleksander Vidakovic, Hossam will undertake the design and development of the much-anticipated marketplace for Mifos X. He will work on both back and front-end of the marketplace as well as the Mifos X architecture to ensure that modules and plugins can easily be installed and deployed on top of Mifos X. The marketplace will be a powerful tool to unleash the full potential of our core/edge approach by enabling the community to build and distribute modules, apps, plugins, integrations and custom components to extend the core functionality of Mifos X. He was selected due to his highly relevant professional fintech experience and his pre-existing work building the mifos-workflow service, giving him the exact architectural context needed to successfully generalize the engine. Outside of backend engineering, Hossam is a dedicated League of Legends player and is deeply proud of pitching and building his graduation project, a real estate platform called “Deyarak.” 

Albin Sunny

Pluggable Workflow Engine Support

Albin Sunny is an undergraduate student pursuing a BTech in Computer Science in Kerala, India. He will be developing the Pluggable Workflow Engine Support project under the mentorship of Aleksandar Vidakovic. Albin will focus on re-engineering the mifos-workflow service by building a clean Java Service Provider Interface (SPI) and developing isolated Maven adapters for both Flowable and Netflix Conductor, allowing institutions to seamlessly switch engines via configuration rather than code changes. He was selected for his strong backend architecture intuition and his proven ability to independently diagnose and patch complex local deployment blockers within the Mifos stack. Outside of tackling massive real-world codebases, Albin treats a broken line of code like the ultimate puzzle and dreams of exploring the quiet, mountainous landscapes of Norway.

Himanshu Tiwari

AI-Powered Document Digitization and Intelligent Report Migration Engine

Himanshu Tiwari is an MS in Computer Science student at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, balancing his academic research with a role as a Software Engineer Intern at Ubiik. He will be driving the AI-Powered Document Digitization and Intelligent Report Migration Engine project under the mentorship of Akshat Sharma and Rahul Goel. Himanshu will focus on building a robust Hybrid OCR and LLM pipeline capable of extracting entities from complex financial documents and legacy reports, seamlessly migrating them into Mifos X via API integration. He was selected for his elite, production-grade AI and systems architecture experience—having previously been recognized as a national-level IoT innovator and published as a co-author on IEEE research for voice-first banking assistants. Outside of his deep passion for open-source cybersecurity, Himanshu loves the vibrant Night Market culture of Taipei and dreams of exploring the tech-forward landscapes of Iceland.

Raghav Agrawal

Enterprise Integration of Eclipse BIRT & Automated Pentaho Migration

Raghav Agrawal is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at the Vellore Institute of Technology in Tamil Nadu, India. He will be driving the Enterprise Integration of Eclipse BIRT & Automated Pentaho Migration project under the mentorship of Francisco Cuandon. Raghav will focus on modernizing the Fineract reporting engine by tackling thread-safety in a singleton engine, managing JVM memory for massive ledger exports, and building a custom compiler to migrate legacy Pentaho XML templates over to BIRT. He was selected for his deep passion for complex architectural backend engineering and his highly proactive open-source track record—having already successfully merged multiple critical pull requests resolving BIRT parameter validation issues and database migrations before the program even began. Outside of debugging backend bottlenecks, Raghav enjoys hitting the gym, playing the guitar, learning card tricks, and hopes to one day discuss discipline and consistency over lunch with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Yousuf Ansari

Financial Analytics & Inclusive Dashboards for the Mifos Web App

Yousuf Ansari is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at JSPM Narhe. He will be developing the Financial Analytics & Inclusive Dashboards for the Mifos Web App under the mentorship of Victor Romero. Yousuf will focus on building a fully native analytics layer within the Angular WebApp—including a Dataset API, an interactive Chart Editor using ngx-echarts, and a grid-based Dashboard Builder—eliminating the platform’s reliance on external BI tools. He was selected for his proven expertise in visualization engineering, having already built production-grade dashboards for real-world businesses and successfully merged complex rendering fixes into the massive Apache Superset open-source project. Outside of front-end architecture, Yousuf is deeply driven by the real-world impact of his code, having seen firsthand growing up in India how access to financial services can completely change the trajectory of a family.

Mohit Davar

AI for Developer Productivity

Mohit Davar is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology at Panjab University in Chandigarh, India. He will be driving the AI for Developer Productivity project under the mentorship of Yash Sancheti. Mohit will focus on building a robust suite of LLM-powered developer tools, including an AI Security Reviewer GitHub Action to catch vulnerabilities, a modular 3-agent Test Automation system using Playwright MCP, and a Mifos MCP Server that utilizes agentic grep and semantic search to help developers navigate the massive codebase. He was selected for his extensive, proven track record within the Mifos community-ai ecosystem—having already merged over a dozen complex pull requests related to AI chatbots and Jira/Slack MCP servers over the last eight months. Outside of building software agents, Mohit loves exploring how code interacts with the physical world by tinkering with microcontrollers and PLCs, and he actively champions open-source culture as the Technical Coordinator of his university’s Programming Club.

Kartikey Shukla

Unified Offline-First Data Layer using Store5 for KMP Project Template

Kartikey Shukla is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology. He will be developing the Unified Offline-First Data Layer using Store5 for KMP Project Template under the mentorship of Rajan Maurya. Kartikey will focus on constructing a generic three-tier model structure and implementing a cross-platform background sync system using WorkManager to intelligently handle offline mutations and caching. He was selected for his deep familiarity with the Kotlin Multiplatform ecosystem and his active history of merging over 60 critical pull requests across Mifos mobile repositories over the last year. Yash Sheorey

Payment Hub EE, Operations UI In React

Yash Sheorey is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Technology at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing in Jabalpur, India. He will be driving the Payment Hub EE, Operations UI in React project. Yash will focus on engineering a modular, high-performance React application to completely replace the legacy Angular frontend, ensuring strict architectural parity while safely transitioning global API interceptor pipelines and Keycloak RBAC workflows. He was selected for his elite, production-grade full-stack expertise—having previously served as a Linux Kernel Developer Intern for the LFX Mentorship—and his proven ability to resolve critical functionality issues within the existing mifos-x-web-app-react codebase. Outside of system architecture, Yash is a dedicated mentor who guides hundreds of juniors through his university’s Aero Fabrication Club and actively competes in distributed systems hackathons.

Arin Yadav

Mifos Save Mobile App

Arin Yadav is currently pursuing a Diploma in Computer Science Engineering at the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University in New Delhi, India. He will be developing the Mifos Save Mobile App project. Arin will focus on designing a scalable, offline-first Kotlin Multiplatform architecture to support core Group Banking and VSLA workflows, including Center management, GLIM/GSIM support, and collection sheet-based bulk operations. He was selected for his deep, professional-grade expertise in the ecosystem, having already worked internally as a Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer for the Mifos Initiative since March 2025 to build reusable Compose Multiplatform components and migrate core data layers. Outside of enterprise financial systems, Arin enjoys building independent tools, such as his custom productivity app “ForgetHub,” which features dynamic, time-of-day-based UI themes.

Rishab Raj

Dynamic Pricing of Micro-loans Using Reinforcement Learning

Rishabh Raj is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Science & Engineering at the Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology in Bangalore, India. Rishabh will focus on building intelligent machine learning models and fairness audit dashboards to optimize microfinance pricing decisions and ensure equitable access for individuals excluded from traditional banking. He was selected for his high-level academic and technical expertise in predictive analytics, having already published multiple research papers at IEEE and Springer conferences on topics like FAANG stock forecasting and ride-hailing fare prediction. Furthermore, he has already demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization by co-authoring an IEEE-presented research paper on building a multilingual, voice-first banking assistant for the OpenMF ecosystem. Outside of his complex machine learning research, Rishabh is a two-time hackathon winner who actively dedicates his skills to community-based tech projects.

Incorporation of Mifos X Latest Version into Mifos Gazelle

Kanishk Vikram Singh is a first-year undergraduate student pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science with Integrated AI/ML at Medhavi Skills University in Bengaluru, India. He will be driving the Incorporation of Mifos X latest version into Mifos Gazelle project. Kanishk will focus on migrating MifosX from raw kubectl manifests to a Helm chart, updating Fineract to the stable 25.03 version, migrating the database to PostgreSQL, and building custom Docker images to seamlessly integrate the reporting plugin, credit bureau, and workflow engine. He was selected for his impressive cross-domain proficiency and highly proactive open-source track record as a first-year student—having already successfully merged 14 pull requests across the Mifos ecosystem, including critical deployment configuration fixes for Gazelle and UX enhancements for the Android app. Outside of tackling production-grade Kubernetes deployments, Kanishk stays active as a member of his college’s football team and serves on the esports organizing committee.
