Roadmap

The Mifos community aims to release a major release each quarter.  Leading up to each release are a number of milestone and point releases. Features for each release are determined based on customer need and community input.  The list below is a product roadmap for future Mifos features.  Please see Previous Mifos Releases for information on past releases of Mifos.

2012 Product Roadmap

2012 Roadmap

The 2012 Product Roadmap was compiled based on the feedback and user discovery meetings led by the Product Management team throughout the first several months of 2012. This is a living document that will evolve and grow as we review more feature requests that are assessed in our Community Feature Requests Dashboard. We look to extend Mifos to be a fully operational platform for MFIs of all sizes, extend the accessibility of Mifos through mobile and offline devices, and work towards the next generation architecture to power future growth.

Upcoming Releases

As part of our effort to live out our shared vision of 3 Billion Maries across our community, each upcoming Mifos release (post Gazelle C) will be code-named after one of these Maries - a microfinance client whose life has been improved through financial and economic opportunity, representing the rise from poverty of the nearly 3 billion who live on less than $2/day. This client will be chosen from a Mifos customer, whose technology needs are a focal point for that release.

If you have additional feature requests or would like to show your support for one of these requested features, do one of the following:

  • Log a formal enhancement/feature request so it shows up in the dashboard. You can then vote or watch for features you'd like to get built.
  • Just want to post an idea? Suggest an idea or improvement in our User Voice tool.
  • Build the feature - Propose and discuss your feature request to the community; then build and contribute it according to our code submission process.
