Mifos uses the following project roles:

Observer

Everyone starts here, with read-only access to project code. Despite the name, Observers are not limited to observing. They can submit bugs in the Issue Tracker, and are also free to join and submit patches and code via the mailing list.

Contributor

Intended for non-developers who want to participate in documentation efforts on the web portion of the project. Contributors have read/write access to project web content, but not the source code.

Developer

Once you have had some code accepted and implemented via the mailing list, you can request the Developer role, which gives you read/write access to the entire project

Project Owner

There are currently four Project Owners who can reconfigure the project as necessary and control membership.
