Do you need to build Mifos from the source code?

Mifos is a web-based client server application.  This means a data entry user does not have to install anything except a web browser (like Internet Explorer) in order to use Mifos.

If you want to just use Mifos version 1.1, see what it looks like and explore the functionality, use the demonstration server, view a demo, or install the latest stable release on your machine.

The instructions below tell you how to get the latest source code under development.  This code is not guaranteed to be stable.

Installing Mifos from Source

1. First download the code with subversion
2. Follow this README file that accompanies the source code in SVN. This file contains instructions for building and installing Mifos.
