Missions of Hope, International (MoHI) has been working in the Mathare community in Kenya since 2000, providing educational for children, community development and micro-enterprise support. They aim to assist the urban poor to resolve their problems through available resources, training, microenterprise, optimism and faith to provide hope to these communities. Their microfinance (Business Development Services) program launched in 2005 with a personal donation of $300; this has since to grown to a loan portfolio of more than $100,000.

Polly from Jitegemea suggested Mifos as an ideal system to automate their operations and throughout 2010 they’ve been implementing Mifos as they transition from their previous SACCO tracking system.
