User Meetup - Join Us Thursday June 21


Two weeks have come and gone and it's time to all get together once again. Our bi-weekly user meetup is coming up this Thursday, June 21.  Milagros Mendoza of Quipu Technology will be sharing her experiences rolling out Mifos at Fundación Inversión y Cooperación, the first MFI to go live on Mifos in Latin America.  We'll also discuss the Mifos 2.4 release and we'll have a brief demonstration of CloudFoundry integration with Mifos. 

The meeting is at the usual time at 330pm GMT on Thursday, June 21 - we'll connect directly via Skype or Freeconferencing if the service is available.  Please add this invite to your calendar to join.

Mifos 2.4 - Vinolia I launches

We're happy to announce that Mifos 2.4, our second major community-supported release since the transition is available for download. With development and release management led by SolDevelo, this release is in direct response to some of the most critical gaps you've expressed in Mifos - easier reporting and integrated accounting.  Mifos 2.4 includes 25 embedded Pentaho reports directly in Mifos, and the upcoming maintenance release will include Mifos-ACC, the basic accounting module, developed by Hugo Technologies with sponsorship from FinA.  Mifos 2.4 also is rounding out a lot of the core functionality to improve efficiency and streamline business process including transfers between accounts, value-based permissions for loan approvals, real-time M-Pesa mobile money integration through KopoKopo, back-dated loan approvals, pro-rated GLIM payments, savings adjustments, and more.

Specialist Spotlight - Hugo Technologies

Mifos Specialists are one of the most crucial links in our community – they are the driving force that is promoting and supporting Mifos worldwide Specialist Spotlight is a regular series on the COSM blog that will shine the light on some of our top Specialists. Not only do we want to recognize them for their accomplishments, we want others to learn from their approach they've taken to promote and implement Mifos. This month we want to bring attention to the strong work that Hugo Technologies is doing in the Mifos community. They are supporting Mifos customers and building new functionality not only in India but in multiple continents around the world. They've brought Mifos live at two customers, developed the Mifos-ACC accounting module and established a local presence in East Africa, West Africa, South Africa, Mexico, and the Philippines.
