Mifos 1.1 is Released!
On July 11, 2008, we released Mifos 1.1, four days ahead of schedule!
This significant release is a major milestone for the Mifos project, with many improvements including a new reporting system, new configuration options, basic internationalization support, new loan and meeting schedule features, surveys and progress out of poverty tracking for social measurement.
An incredible amount of hard work went into making this software release possible. Please join us in recognizing the tremendous dedication and terrific accomplishments by all the developers, program managers, and testers who worked so well together to produce Mifos 1.1. Also thanks to the entire community who helped improve the quality and add ideas.
Since Mifos software is freely distributed, we rely on the community to help support other members by answering questions, filling in missing documentation, reporting bugs, submitting patches, and so on. We greatly appreciate your continued contributions in this regard.

Future Releases
This is only the beginning of many new improvements to come. In the next few months we will also release some better tools that make Mifos easier to work with and ship another version that adds some important enhancements that did not make it into v1.1.
We are also beginning work on a longer-term project to do a significant re-architecture of the Mifos code from top to bottom, to improve the modularity, usability, quality, performance, and extensibility of the platform. We will continue to be open and transparent with our development as this project progresses, and we look forward to continuing to work with you to refine and improve this process as we go. More info on these future releases to follow.
Feel free to email questions and comments to our community mailing lists as you are installing. If you are new to the list, please introduce yourself and tell us how you are using Mifos.
